Maria and Phil would like to pass on our very best wishes to all, and hoping for a happy, joyous and peaceful 2009. We are looking forward to meeting new and returning visitors this year and hope very much that you enjoy your stay in argument cottage, Guisborough and Yorkshire!

It is Goth Weekend in Whitby again at the end of October for Halloween. Watch out for Dracula!

Find everything you need to know about Bram Stoker and Dracula in the link below..................he reputedly came ashore on Tate Hill Sands, Whitby, in the Demiter in the form of a black dog. Watch out for one seen on Church Street recently, near to Arguments Yard!

Things we have achieved in the past two years!

We have achieved great things in our first 2 years of business, Four Star VisitBritain rating, Cycling and Walkers Welcome Certificate, Welcome to Excellence and Welcome All trained staff and Silver Award for Green Tourism Business Scheme in March 2007! We are very keen to promote Environmental issues by promoting our Environmental Policy and engage in voluntary community archaeological activities regularly. History, Archaeology, the Environment are amongst our passions as is the local football team Middlesbrough, or otherwise known as the Boro! Come and stay with us and experience the great things that Argument Cottage, Guisborough and the surrounding area have to offer!

How to Book

You can ring us on the numbers given, go to our website and securely book online, or email with your booking dates and requirements.

Our reasonable prices start from £250 per week and at high season go up to £475 per in high season. A full list of prices is available by clicking here.

Included in the price is all gas, electricity and incoming phone line charges. Free bedroom and bathroom linen and extremely generous Welcome Pack with local produce from the Farmers and regular markets and seasonal variations. Don't forget the bottle of wine, flowers and newspaper added as a special extra!

All about the cottage

Welcome to Argument Cottage, named after a local family, which is Guisborough’s only self-catering establishment. Located on Northgate, two minutes from the town centre and Gisborough 12th Century Priory ruins, the property is a former miner’s cottage, completely refurbished to a superb quality whilst at the same time retaining original features. Sleeping four, Argument Cottage is an ideal base for exploring not only Cleveland’s ancient capital Guisborough but also the surrounding areas, including the North York Moors National Park, Captain Cook Country, Heartbeat Country, the Cleveland Way Walk, Whitby, many other coastal villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay- and much more.
